Location

If you would like to walk from the main station (approx. 12 minutes), take the Königstraße exit and turn directly right past the i-Punkt of the City of Stuttgart towards Oberer Schlossgarten / Schauspielhaus. Follow the signposted barrier-free path through the Schlossgarten to Konrad-Adenauer-Straße.

There, a traffic light leads to the other side of the street. In about 80 metres on the right you will find the entrance to the Staatsgalerie with barrier-free access.
 

Alternative (not barrier-free):

After you have reached the Oberer Schlossgarten, cross it in the direction of the Opernhaus. Between the Landtag and the Opernhaus, a wide footpath leads you to a pedestrian subway. On the opposite side of the street you can already see the postmodern architectural ensemble with the Haus der Geschichte, the Musikakademie and the Kammertheater, which also includes the Staatsgalerie. After arriving on the other side of the street, turn left past the large water basins. After about 100 m, the ramp on the right leads to the entrance of the museum.

Get off at the "Staatsgalerie" stop (approx. 6 minutes' walk; currently not barrier-free!).

Bus: 40, 42

City trains: U1, U2, U4, U9, U14

Turn left, along Willy-Brandt-Straße, across the large intersection. Here you can already see the Alte Staatsgalerie building. Follow the signs straight ahead along Konrad-Adenauer-Straße until you reach the pedestrian ramp or stairs to the museum entrance on the left.

or alternatively "Charlottenplatz" ( approx. 8 minutes walk)

City train: U5, U6, U7, U12, U15

Please take the exit "Schlossgarten" and follow the footpath past the Landtag to the pedestrian subway at the Opera. On the other side of the street, turn left towards the Staatsgalerie. After about 100 m you have reached the stairway to the museum entrance.

The Staatsgalerie is located not far from Stuttgart's main railway station.

From the main station you can reach the Staatsgalerie in approx. 12 minutes on foot, or you can take the bus or city train one stop to the "Staatsgalerie" stop.

Due to the high traffic volume, the major construction site S21 and the limited parking possibilities, we recommend arriving by public transport.
